Why this blog ?

I am a collector of covers, postcards and stamps, living in France.
Send me a nice cover or a postcard from your country, with a commemorative stamp, and you will get a philatelic cover or a card with a nice stamp from France.

I hope that it will be possible for you and me to expand our collections. I also hope that it will be possible to become penpals.

I will publish the letters and cards received except if you write "no publication". I will not publish your name except if you want.

US Medal of Honor.

This is the first article of this blog and I want to begin with a letter sent through USPS a few days ago.
I got this cover from the USA (posted in Milwaukee). The Milwaukee area was full of French "coureurs des Bois" during the XVIIIth Century. Those possessing an official license to trade were called voyageurs, the term coureurs de bois being reserved usually for illegal traders.
The stamps commemorates the Medal of Honor. The Medal of Honor is the United States of America's highest military honor, awarded for personal acts of valor above and beyond the call of duty. http://uspsstamps.com/blog/2013/10/18
